PHOENIX — Arizona’s two biggest metro areas made a business review website’s list of the nation’s most LGBTQ-inclusive cities this Pride Month.
Phoenix and Tucson both cracked the top 20 of Yelp’s most inclusive LGBTQ cities, coming in at No. 7 and No. 11, respectively.
Yelp collected data on the popularity of gender-neutral restrooms and “open-to-all” businesses — ones that brand themselves as safe and welcoming places to everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion or disability — from large metro areas to make its ranking.

As of May 2019, there were almost 312,00 businesses in the U.S. that have gender-neutral restrooms or were “open-to-all,” according to Yelp.
Phoenix’s ranking included surrounding cities such as Mesa, Scottsdale and Glendale.
Arizona was one of just three states to have multiple cities make the ranking. California and Florida were the others.
San Francisco was the most inclusive city, with Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and Austin rounding out the top five.
