Shots fired inside a northwest Phoenix convenience store.
“It was Tuesday, March 26, 2019, and it was just before midnight when the suspect came into the AM/PM store at 27th Avenue and Union Hills,” says Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild.
Rothschild says the suspect acted like any other customer.
“He went over to the cooler and took out a drink. But when he went up to the counter, he pulled out a gun, racked the slide and pointed it at the employee. He even fired a shot into the ceiling,” the sergeant says.
Terrifying!
Rothschild says the man’s whole demeanor changed the moment he took out the gun and pointed it at the clerk. He became almost frantic as he demanded money from the register.
Which he got. The man took off in a charcoal gray Dodge Charger.

Our next case takes us to a gym on Phoenix’s east side on April 8.
“It’s a popular area — 40th Street and Thomas Road,” says Sgt. Rothschild. “And it’s a popular time to work out. It’s after work, about 6 o’clock at night.”
Rothschild says a woman in a gray spandex top and bottoms walked in and went to the pegboard where customers hang their keys while they work out. She selected a set of keys and used them to steal a vehicle.
The car is a red 2015 Scion TC.
