PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Department is partnering up with a Flagstaff brewery.
In an effort to help fund wildlife conservation, Mother Road Brewing Co. and AZGFD have released special edition cans of the brewery’s Conserve and Protect Kolsch-style ale.
“We want all Arizonans to know about the agency’s efforts to conserve and protect 800-plus wildlife species in the state,” director of AZGFD Ty Gray said in a press release.
“With Mother Road’s launch of Conserve and Protect Kolsch, we’re talking to a new audience that cares about sustainability, enjoys the outdoors and wants to contribute to wildlife conservation.”
A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the ale will be donated to AZGFD to help support its conservation efforts that are done without any general fund tax dollars.
“Assisting with wildlife and habitat conservation in Arizona is a natural fit for Mother Road as it dovetails with our mission of ‘building community one pint at a time,’” CEO Michael Marquess said.
The new-look cans will be available statewide soon, according to AZGFD.
Even the label provides a taste of the outdoors.
“Conserve and Protect Kolsch is best enjoyed pulled from a cold river, and straight from the can,” the label on the orange and purple can reads. “It pairs well with fresh air, wild-caught fish, and good company.”
