Arizona hosts Free Fishing Day for National Fishing and Boating Week

PHOENIX — On Saturday, the first day of National Fishing and Boating Week, fishing in Arizona waters will be free of charge.
For enthusiasts that want to give fishing a try, licenses will not be required for new anglers on Free Fishing Day.
According to a release from the Arizona Game and Fish Department, bag limits and other fishing regulations will still be in effect.
The department will also be hosting free fishing clinics and events at Lake Pleasant, Goldwater Lake, Dead Horse Ranch State Park and Kaibab Lake on the day.
Fishing rods, bait and instruction are provided for free at the events.
National Fishing and Boating Week is runs June 1-9.
General fishing licenses usually cost $37, while combo fishing and hunting licenses are $57 for residents. Youth combo licenses are just $5.
Children under 10 can already catch fish for free throughout the year.
