PHOENIX — Another popular Arizona figure has taken a raw egg to the face for a good cause.

Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema on Saturday followed through on the Crack Cancer challenge, egging herself after being challenged by Mac Watson and Larry Gaydos of KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Mac & Gaydos show earlier in the week.

Sinema went on to challenge former Arizona politician Matt Salmon and Katie Hobbs, Arizona’s Secretary of State.

The viral challenge was started as part of Brain Cancer Awareness month by the Willie Strong Foundation, which raises funds to find treatments for pediatric brain cancer.

The challenge is similar to the wildly successful Ice Bucket Challenge that raised money and awareness to fight Lou Gehrig’s disease.

But instead of getting doused with ice water, participants have an egg cracked on their heads.

They then post video of the mess-making to social media, with the #CrackCancer hashtag, and challenge somebody else to take part.

Mac and Gaydos egged themselves on Tuesday after being called out by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.

After getting yolked, Mac and Gaydos called out Arizona Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald, Burns & Gambo of 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station and U.S. Sens. Sinema and Martha McSally.

On Monday, Ducey was joined in the governor’s office by the families of two young children who died from brain cancer. He took two eggs on the noggin and promoted crackcancer.com.

In addition to the KTAR News personalities, the governor challenged Arizona Diamondbacks President Derrick Hall, KISS FM’s Johnjay and Rich and “The View” co-host Meghan McCain.

We want to hear from you.
