Phoenix Police looking for woman after child found abandoned

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is searching for a woman who abandoned a child Saturday morning.
According to authorities, a small child was found alone sleeping in a stroller after police were called for a welfare check near 1900 W Indian School Road around 8 a.m.
The child was transported to a nearby hospital and was found to be uninjured.
He was later turned over to the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
When police located the child, he was wearing a black “The Beatles” shirt, gray sweatpants and one gray sock.
Through surveillance video, Phoenix Police were able to verify the child was with a woman earlier on Saturday. The woman is believed to be between the ages of 20 and 40 years old.
Authorities have not been able to locate or identify the woman.
