PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is searching for a woman who abandoned a child Saturday morning.

According to authorities, a small child was found alone sleeping in a stroller after police were called for a welfare check near 1900 W Indian School Road around 8 a.m.

The child was transported to a nearby hospital and was found to be uninjured.

He was later turned over to the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

When police located the child, he was wearing a black “The Beatles” shirt, gray sweatpants and one gray sock.

Through surveillance video, Phoenix Police were able to verify the child was with a woman earlier on Saturday. The woman is believed to be between the ages of 20 and 40 years old.

Authorities have not been able to locate or identify the woman.

Anyone with any information regarding the child or the woman is urged to contact the Phoenix Police Family Investigations Bureau at 602-262-6151.
