PHOENIX — A Sunday morning motorcycle accident in Buckeye left one man dead and another injured, according to police.
Donna Rossi, Buckeye Police public information officer, said police and fire units responded to the crash just outside of Love’s Travel Stop on Miller Road south of Interstate 10 around 7:30 a.m.
She said the accident involved two motorcycles that were riding with a group of friends.
One of the riders sustained severe injuries while the other was hurt but still alert.
Both were transferred to a local hospital where 19-year-old Edgar Miguel Acevedo was pronounced deceased.
Rossi said Acevedo was from Illinois and living in Phoenix.
She said the condition of the second rider was unknown, but his injuries appeared not to be life-threatening at the time of the crash.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
