PHOENIX — Goodyear police seized more than $200,000 worth of meth during a routine traffic stop on Tuesday near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue.
The 54 pounds of meth were discovered after Rito Delgado Renteria, 60, and Blanca Moncada, 53, were acting nervous and gave conflicting statements to officers after being pulled over for speeding, police said.
A K-9 then alerted officers to the meth, which was seized after a search warrant was obtained.
The meth was wrapped in 45 individual bundles weighing 1.2 pounds each.
Police estimated the street value of the meth to be $216,000.
Charges were being submitted on Renteria and Moncada, who are both from Yucaipa, California.
