PHOENIX — Two stars have canceled their appearances at the Phoenix Fan Fusion festival coming up over Memorial Day weekend.
The festival announced Thursday that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, known for his role as Jaime Lannister on “Game of Thrones,” is unable to attend.
He was originally scheduled to appear at the four-day event from Friday through Sunday.
“We hope to invite Nikolaj back to our event very soon,” organizers said in a tweet.

Coster-Waldau was the second star to bow out of the annual downtown convention this week.
On Monday, “Sharknado” star Ian Ziering canceled his appearance due to scheduling conflicts with his new role in the superhero TV series “Swamp Things.”
“I’m so sorry I won’t be able to make it to the comic con this weekend. I really apologize, but when duty calls, I got to get there,” Ziering said in a Facebook video.
Organizers said fans who purchased photo and autograph opportunities with the stars will be refunded.
Other stars still scheduled to headline the festival at the Phoenix Convention Center include Jeff Goldblum, George Takei and Elijah Wood.
Tickets for the convention start at $20 on Thursday, $30 on Friday, $45 on Saturday and $35 on Sunday. A full-event pass goes for $85.
