PHOENIX — International real estate firm Hines announced last week that it plans to build two more self-storage units in the Valley.

The 83,110-square-foot Tempe facility will be located near Priest Drive and Warner Road and house 640 units.

The site, expected to be finished this fall, will also offer covered parking for storing high-end vehicles.

The 96,000-square-foot Litchfield Park location will house 673 units near Camelback and Dysart roads.

Construction is expected to begin in June and wrap up at the end of this year.

Both facilities will be air-conditioned and feature amenities like conference rooms, security systems and a fully automated rental process.

Pennsylvania-based CubeSmart will manage the sites’ operations.

“Class A self-storage facilities are desirable amenities for upscale residential areas,” Chris Anderson, senior managing director and Arizona leader for Hines, said in a press release.

“Building self-storage projects continues our desire to diversify our portfolio.”

Hines’ first self-storage project in Arizona opened in February near Val Vista Drive and Queen Creek Road in Gilbert.

The firm has multiple facilities underway in Texas and plans to build more throughout the Southwest.

“These facilities provide a convenient, clean and secure alternative for people safeguarding their belongings outside of the home,” Luis Castellanos, director of Hines’ self-storage platform, said in the release.

“They also help accommodate small businesses that need flexible storage space near their customers.”
