American adds nonstop flight between Phoenix and Chihuahua, Mexico

PHOENIX — Planning to head south for the winter?
American Airlines is adding a nonstop flight between Phoenix and Chihuahua, Mexico, beginning Dec. 18.
Tickets for the daily, year-round flight out of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will go on sale starting Monday, according to a press release.
The airline will fly a Bombardier CRJ700, a jet that holds about 75 passengers, between the two cities.

Chihuahua is located about 650 miles southeast of Phoenix.
American also announced a new route between Phoenix and Rapid City, South Dakota, beginning Sept. 4.
Last month, the airline began its new nonstop flight between Phoenix and London.
