PHOENIX — Scottsdale-based brewery Fate Brewing Company will open a location near Arizona State University in Tempe on May 15.

The 6,000 square-foot brewpub will be located on Southern Avenue between Mill and College avenues.

“The area south of Arizona State University’s Tempe campus is hungry for something new, and Fate Brewing Company is just the right concept to bring life to that area of town,” Steve Ellefson, partner and general manager at Fate Brewing Company, said in a press release. “We are excited to get to know our new neighbors and grow with the Tempe community.”

The new Tempe location will feature a 2,500 square-foot beer garden and a large, dog-friendly patio with two fire pits and lawn games.

Lunch and dinner options at Fate will include smashed burgers, crispy crust pizzas and favorites like the Twist of Fate Pretzel, Legendary French Dip, Street Tacos and Drunken Chicken. Brunch will be served on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fate will host a grand opening party for the Tempe location on May 29.

Last month, Fate announced a return to its original name after switching to McFate Brewing Company in 2006.

Fate Brewing Company said it is hiring 60 employees for the location.

Fate’s first two locations were in Scottsdale.
