Chandler police officer involved in 3-vehicle crash at busy intersection

PHOENIX — A Chandler police officer was involved in a three-vehicle car crash early Friday, authorities said.
Detective Seth Tyler said in an email that the unidentified officer was “conscious and alert” after the crash at Arizona Avenue and Ray Road.
He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The officer was able to communicate with dispatch through his car radio.
Other people involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.
It was not immediately clear how the crash occurred or how many were involved.
Police urged drivers to avoid the area.
