PHOENIX – A former East Valley firefighter has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with a minor, authorities said Wednesday.
Michael Palmatier, a 48-year-old former captain with Gilbert Fire and Rescue, was booked on one count each of sexual conduct with a minor, kidnapping and indecent exposure, Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Gilbert spokeswoman Jennifer Harrison told KTAR News the town is aware of Palmatier’s arrest and was cooperating with the investigation.
Harrison said Palmatier resigned before the arrest, but she didn’t provide details about the length of his employment.
Enriquez said Palmatier was off-duty when the alleged offenses occurred.
With the investigation ongoing, no other details were released.
