PHOENIX — Temperatures in Phoenix are nearing triple digits, but there’s still time to escape north and enjoy winter.

Arizona Snowbowl announced Friday the resort would remain open into May, tying the longest season in recorded history.

The ski resort plans to operate April 26-28 and May 3-5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The decision comes after a record-breaking March in which the resort had a 30 percent increase in skier visits compared to last season.

Snowbowl has received 332 inches of snowfall this season, the second most in the past 21 years.

“As always, skiing is our number one priority and we’ll keep skiing as long as we can and as conditions permit,” J.R. Murray, Snowbowl’s general manager, said in a press release. “We are passionate about getting as many days on the mountain as possible and love seeing both our guests and employees taking the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding spring conditions.”

Snowbowl added that it hasn’t yet decided on a closing date for this season.

Discounted lift tickets are available from $69 for adults, $59 for children (11-17) and $49 for seniors (65-69). Guests under age 10 and over 70 ski for free.

Update: Snowbowl announced May 1 that it would remain open until May 19.
