PHOENIX – Online real estate giant Zillow plans to expand its presence in metro Phoenix, adding jobs and a capital investment of more than $7 million.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey Ducey made the announcement Wednesday morning from Scottsdale, where the new Southwest hub for direct-buy Zillow Offers will be located.

The move will create more than 160 jobs for recruiters, corporate counsel, human resources, project coordinators, analysts, loan originations and more by the end of the year.

They will work out of a 25,000-square-foot office near Scottsdale and Camelback roads.

Zillow kicked off its home-buying initiative in Phoenix and Las Vegas a year ago before adding several other markets.

The program lets sellers ask for no-obligation cash offers from Zillow, which works with local agents and brokers.

MarketWatch reported jobs ranged from entry level to director, and some didn’t require a college education.

“This is just another example of positive economic momentum we have as a state. We’re thrilled to have you,” Ducey said.

Earlier this week, the Seattle-based company officially made the direct-buying program available in Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas.

We want to hear from you.
