Bridge construction to restrict Pinnacle Peak Road at Interstate 17

PHOENIX — Construction of a new bridge that will carry traffic over Interstate 17 will restrict Pinnacle Peak Road over the next few weeks.
Overnight lane restrictions begin Wednesday for eastbound Pinnacle Peak Road. The road will be narrowed to one lane at the I-17 interchange on Wednesday and Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and also from April 22-25.
The bridge is part of Arizona Department of Transportation’s $50 million project that aims to to improve traffic flow and safety by rebuilding older I-17 interchanges at Pinnacle Peak and Happy Valley roads.

Construction work is expected to increase soon near I-17 and Happy Valley Road, but specific closures and restrictions have yet to be announced.
The $50 million project, which started in November 2018, is scheduled for completion in fall 2020.
