PHOENIX — A suspect who was accused of stabbing two people and throwing knives at officers was shot and injured by two northern Arizona police early Friday.
The Prescott Police Department said the suspect was shot after throwing the knives toward the officers. The officers were not injured.
Neither the suspect nor the officers involved were identified.
The officers responded to a call of a woman “yelling for help and banging on doors” around 7 a.m. near the Wagon Wheel mobile home park.
Authorities then saw two men who were suffering from apparent stab wounds. The men said they were assaulted by the suspect, who was inside a nearby mobile home.
The victims suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and received treatment at a local hospital. The suspect was flown to a Phoenix-area hospital for treatment after the shooting.
The area of Gail Gardner Way and Wagon Trail near the mobile home park is expected to be closed for sometime while an investigation is conducted.
No other details were given.
