PHOENIX — In Feburary, we celebrated National Pizza Day. Five months before, it was National Cheese Pizza Day.
Friday’s holiday goes one step further and honors what many consider the best kind of pizza: deep dish.
No one knows for sure who originated the glorious creation, but historians say it was first made in Chicago sometime in the mid-1900s.
Looking for a dessert that matches the holiday’s theme?
Unfortunately it has yet to exist — Giordano’s broke a lot of hearts on Monday when for April Fool’s Day it advertised a deep dish dessert pizza stuffed with Nutella and house-made strawberry sauce.
Introducing Deep Dish Nutella Pizza! Filled with gooey Nutella and topped with our house made strawberry sauce, this dessert will keep you coming back for more! Find out more and order now: https://t.co/0XKZFzVIiC pic.twitter.com/iIl0DKQ535
