R&B star Khalid to open first arena tour in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Phoenix fans will get the first chance to see R&B sensation Khalid in his debut arena tour.
Khalid on Friday announced his Free Spirit World Tour, which opens June 20 at Gila River Arena.
The announcement comes exactly a week before Khalid is set to drop his second album, “Free Spirit.”

Tickets for the tour go on sale on April 5 at noon through Ticketmaster.
Claro, a YouTube sensation and electropop artist, will open for Khalid during the tour.
Khalid burst onto the music scene in 2016 with his hit single “Location.”
Since then, he’s had several Billboard Top 100 songs, including “Young, Dumb & Broke,” “Love Lies” and “Better.”
The 21-year-old won Best New Artist at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards and Best New R&B Artist at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
