Scottsdale man arrested for allegedly attempting to stab wife to death

PHOENIX — Scottsdale police said they arrested a man Thursday morning who allegedly tried to stab his wife to death.
Police said Robert Trudeau, 55, was at his home near 105th Street and Raintree Drive with his wife and teenage son.
Around 6 a.m., Trudeau began stabbing his wife multiple times and stated that he wanted to kill her, according to police.
The wife and son were able to escape, and Trudeau was still at home when officers arrived.

Police said Trudeau refused to comply with police orders and leave the home, so they initiated barricade procedures and called a SWAT team.
Trudeau surrendered around 9:15 a.m. and is being held on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping and resisting arrest, according to police.
His wife was hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
