Phoenix Fire: Parents arrested after using drugs in car with kids present

PHOENIX — Two parents were arrested Wednesday for using narcotic drugs in a parked car with their two young children present, according to Phoenix Fire.
Crews responded to a call of a possible overdose or exposure near 34th Street and Thomas Road around 5:30 p.m.
Phoenix police arrested the parents and took the children, ages 5 and 7, into custody.
The children were evaluated by paramedics and taken to the hospital as a precaution.
No other information about the incident was immediately available.
Phoenix police will continue to investigate the matter.
