PHOENIX – A Scottsdale go-kart facility announced plans Thursday to offer new ways to play with a sprawling entertainment center.

The Octane Raceway complex at the Pavilions at Talking Stick will nearly double in size with the addition of Mavrix, which is expected to open in late 2019, according to a press release from parent company Octane Entertainment.

The new space will have 24 bowling lanes, 85 arcade games, laser tag, billiards, dozens of televisions, meeting and event space and a 5,000-square-foot restaurant and bar.

Guests will be able to move between Mavrix and Octane Raceway through a shared outdoor games patio. The track facility has an existing arcade, and game cards will be good at both venues.

Mavrix is taking over 50,000 square feet of retail space that used to be Toys R Us next to the raceway. That will grow the company’s footprint on Talking Stick Way near Loop 101 to 110,000 square feet, including Velocity VR, a virtual-reality gaming area that Octane opened in 2017.

“Octane Entertainment has had its sights on expansion, and when the space next door to Octane Raceway became available, it was too good to pass up,” CEO Scott Sanders said in a press release.
