Authorities searching for suspects in 2 fatal Valley hit-and-run accidents

Authorities are searching for the suspects in two hit-and-run accidents that killed two women in the Valley since last September.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild says our first case happened in the far southeast Valley.
“On Saturday, September 22, 2018, sometime during the late evening hours, the Gila River Police Department responded to (State Route 87) near Saint Road. That’s in Sacaton.”
They found the body of 29-year-old Natasha Cooper.
“It’s believed Ms. Cooper was in the process of placing a sign somewhere near the road when she was struck by a vehicle. But that vehicle didn’t stick around for police, the driver took off.”
Investigators don’t even know what kind of vehicle they’re looking for.

The next case involves a mother who was killed in front of her children on Feb. 4, at 71st and Missouri avenues in Glendale.
“Our victim, Juana Hernandez-Diaz, was crossing the road with her three children. She was struck by what we believe was a dark blue 2006-2009 Lexus ES-350. The vehicle didn’t stay at the scene.”
Juana and her children were in a marked crosswalk.
