PHOENIX — After a long week that saw record-breaking cold and rainfall, Phoenix is expected to return to normal temperatures for the year this week.
The high temperature on Tuesday is forecast as 72 degrees, nearly 30 degrees warmer than the temperature just days earlier.
“It looks like we’ll be in the 60s (on Monday), but then we should finally get into the lower 70s on Tuesday and the mid-70s on Wednesday and kind of hangout around the mid-70s for the rest of the week into the weekend,” Larry Hopper with the National Weather Service in Phoenix told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Phoenix’s high is expected to be 72 degrees on Tuesday before climbing to 76 degrees on Wednesday, 75 degrees on Thursday and 74 degrees on Friday.

That will be a drastic difference from last week’s temperatures — including one that was record-breaking.
Phoenix recorded a high temperature of 47 degrees on Friday, a record low for the date, according to the weather service. The previous coldest Feb. 22 was in 1897 at 54 degrees.
It is normal for the city to see temperatures in the low 70s in February. The warmest temperature ever recorded in February was in 2016, when Phoenix saw 79.9 degrees.
But the cold wasn’t the only record Phoenix marked last week: A total of 1.01 inches of rain was measured Thursday, setting a record for the date. The previous mark was 0.73 inches in 1973.
Meteorologist Andrew Deemer told KTAR News on Saturday that residents can put their umbrellas away, at least through the next week.
“By this time next week, we’ll be looking at temperatures anywhere from 75, even 80 degrees, so the weather is going to be nice for folks,” he said.
Phoenix residents who have noticed that their streets were damaged by the storms can call 602-262-6441 to report any roadway maintenance issue.
