PHOENIX — The former Sing High Chop Suey House in downtown Phoenix will be converted into office buildings, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.

Rajan Hansji bought the half-acre property in February 2018 for $2.3 million while the 90-year-old Chinese restaurant continued to operate, the article said.

Sing High said it was weighing its options over the summer but ultimately closed its doors in September, much to the dismay of its many longtime customers.

The eatery had been located in its building near Madison Street and Central Avenue for 37 years.

The inside of the two-story building has been demolished and separated into office spaces, with its first tenant Downtown Physical Therapy planning to move in over the summer, according to the Journal.

“The identity is really good, a lot of people know the building,” Jerry Jacobs, executive managing director of Newmark Knight Frank, the building’s exclusive adviser, said in the article.

“Interest there has been pretty steady.”
