PHOENIX — AT&T plans to hire 500 full-time employees at its new 70,000-square-foot call center in Mesa.
The new facility was announced last week in Mesa Mayor John Giles’ State of the City speech.
The call center will be an extension of the company’s corporate center in Mesa, located at University Drive and Alma School Road.
The new center is expected to handle 1.4 million calls annually concerning products and services.
An AT&T spokesman told the Phoenix Business Journal that hiring has begun for the 500 full-time employees.
“The city of Mesa and Mayor Giles have been excellent to work with as AT&T continues to expand. We are proud to start AT&T’s new chapter here with hundreds of new jobs,” Toni Morales Broberg, president of AT&T Arizona, told the journal.
“We always want to make sure we are providing our customers with a high-level of service they have come to expect, and this new state-of-the-art call center is part that commitment.”
