PHOENIX — U.S. Sen. Martha McSally will be accompanied by an inspirational 19-year-old performer from Phoenix for President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday.

The first-term senator from Arizona invited Isaiah Acosta to join her at the Capitol for the speech.

Acosta was born without a lower jaw and as a result is mute, but has written, recorded and performed several songs.

Phoenix’s Tikey Patterson, who rapped under the name Trap House, voiced Acosta’s lyrics but died of cancer last month.

“I am very honored to have Isaiah as my State of the Union guest,” McSally said. “His music and his story have inspired people around the world to embrace their differences, and those of others, and to see beyond their challenges and barriers in life.

Acosta is an advocate for Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Networks Hospitals in addition to performing.

He posted several stories on Instagram on Monday of him in D.C. ahead of the address.

Fellow U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is bringing Bryan Bouchard, a Bronze Star recipient who lives in Scottsdale and works for Maricopa County Superior Court, as her SOTU guest.

Arizona Rep. Greg Stanton’s guest will be Ellie Perez, a DACA recipient.
