Rollover crash closes 48th Street near freeways in Tempe

PHOENIX – A rollover car accident near a freeway entrance in Tempe left three people injured early Tuesday, police said.
The two-car collision on 48th Street shut down all lanes in both directions near State Route 143 southbound around 5:40 a.m.
Two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries; a third suffered injuries that weren’t life-threatening, police said.
The roadway reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
Interstate 10’s eastbound exit to 48th Street was also shut down for hours.
No other details were immediately available.
