PHOENIX — A man was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Thomas Road and 60th Drive on Sunday morning, according to Phoenix Police.

Around 7 a.m., a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling west on Thomas Road when it reportedly veered into the eastbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet Suburban head-on.

The Nissan driver, 27-year-old Rodolfo Gaitan Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.

His two passengers — a 28-year-old woman and a young female child — were hospitalized in extremely critical condition, police said.

The 60-year-old male driver of the Suburban suffered serious injuries, but police said they were not life-threatening.

His two passengers, a 27-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, were not injured.

Police said it was unknown if impairment was a factor, and the collision was still under investigation.
