PHOENIX — Former U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake has only been out of public office for a week, but he could have a new job soon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS News has “engaged in talks” with Flake over a role as an on-air contributor at the network.

Flake was also spotted at the network’s New York headquarters last week.

This is not the first time Flake was rumored to head to the small screen.

Last June, The Daily Beast reported that Flake met with MSNBC president Phil Griffin and CNN chief Jeff Zucker.

Flake retired from the Senate in January.

The Arizona Republican announced in 2017 that he would not seek re-election, citing a divisive culture created under President Donald Trump.

U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) was elected to his seat late last year. She will serve alongside U.S. Sen. Martha McSally, a Republican who also campaigned for Flake’s seat.

We want to hear from you.
