PHOENIX – After more than a decade in business, Revolver Records in downtown Phoenix will be closing up shop in less than a month.
The eclectic Roosevelt Row music store said in a Facebook post Thursday:
After 11 awesomely crazy years we have decided to ride off into the proverbial record store sunset!
We have enjoyed being a part of all of our customers’ musical lives for the past decade, hopefully fulfilling our original goal of spreading our love of music thru what we believe is the best medium available…VINYL!
The store at Roosevelt and Second streets will shut down Feb. 1, owner T.J. Jordan said in the post.
Comments on the post ranged from gratitude to dismay and sadness.
“This breaks my heart,” wrote one. “Say it ain’t so,” read another comment. Another left the note: “It’s been great.”
The shop bought and sold LPs, CDs, DVDs, memorabilia and books.
The store is saying goodbye with an ongoing sale, starting at 25 percent off. Prices will drop as closing day creeps forward.
Jordan has another site, Mojave Coffee and Records, in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood near 48th Street and Thomas Road.
