PHOENIX – Dine-in movie options continue to spread across the Phoenix area, with Alamo Drafthouse announcing plans Tuesday to open its third Valley location.
Alamo Gilbert is expected to open in late 2019 on Power Road between Ray and Williams Field roads on the eastern edge of the East Valley suburb.
The Texas-based chain entered the Phoenix market in 2016 with a Chandler location and moved into Tempe in 2018.
The Gilbert venue will feature eight auditoriums with recliners, laser and digital 4K projection, in-theater food and beverage service and a lobby bar.
Hello, Gilbert. Let’s make it official: we’re opening a third Alamo Drafthouse in the Valley, and it’s going to be in Gilbert.⠀

The bar will offer a selection of more than 30 local and regional craft beers.
The theaters will screen a blend of art-house and independent features alongside the usual Hollywood fare.
Cinephiles who sign up online for Alamo’s Victory program will have a chance to win free movies for a year.
Alamo is just one brand in a growing number of Valley dine-in movie options, including Studio Movie Grill, iPic Theaters and RoadHouse Cinemas in Scottsdale and Flix Brewhouse, which opened in downtown Chandler last month.
National theater giant AMC also offers dine-in services at some of its locations.
