PHOENIX — The richest city in Arizona might not come as a shock to you.

Paradise Valley was ranked as the richest city in Arizona, according to Business Insider, with an average median income of $176,000 per household.

The website used data measurements from towns and cities with at least 1,000 people living in it, ranging from years 2013-17 to determine the richest towns in the country.

Towns in six states listed on the Business Insider map ranked among the wealthiest with $250,000 and above.

The website Homesnacks used the same Census data to list a top 10 list of wealthiest Arizona cities and towns. Queen Creek, Gilbert, Sahuarita and Goodyear were among the top five with Paradise Valley at No. 1.

In the same study, Business Insider found the town in every state with the highest share of population of adults with a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Fort Valley, a town near Flagstaff, was named most educated in Arizona with 71.7 percent of the population with at least a four-year degree.
