PHOENIX — Schnepf Farms will no longer hold its annual peach festival, according to ABC15 Arizona.
The Queen Creek farm will instead be open to customers Thursday to Sunday throughout the six-week peach season from mid-April through May.
The farm’s owners, Mark and Carrie Schnepf, told ABC15 that people just loved their peaches too much.
“The festival has simply become too popular to handle the crowds of people that visit the farm on the single weekend,” Mark Schnepf said in a statement to ABC15.
“And it has become more and more difficult to have peaches ripe for one particular weekend when you depend on Mother Nature.”
The farm will still sell its peach baked goods (including peach-filled cinnamon rolls and grilled peach pancakes), allow people to pick their own fruit and operate the petting zoo and garden.
“By spreading out the crowd, we can ensure the public a more enjoyable experience when they come to pick some of the finest peaches in the country,” the statement said.
