Silver Alert for missing Phoenix man ends with safe discovery in Yuma

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was issued for a missing Phoenix man on Friday.
Jimmie Ernest Thomas, 71, was last seen Friday by his family at his residence in the area of 1900 West Thunderbird Road in Phoenix.
He was found on Saturday in Yuma and was said to be in good health
He was wearing blue jeans with an unknown colored shirt and was driving a 2005 silver Chrysler 300 with an Arizona Disabled Veterans license plate 7D92R.
Thomas is 5-foot-4 and weighs 145 pounds.
According to Thomas’ family, he may have appeared confused and disorientated. He was also described as forgetful.
“Currently, Jimmie’s pattern of movement appears of though he is exhibiting signs and symptoms of confusion and sightings have shown that he is moving erratically in the West Valley and as far away as Quartzite,” Phoenix Police Department detective Chris Jansen told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday.
According to police, the family had been helping detectives track Thomas and have been providing information on his last known whereabouts.
The last known sighting of Thomas was around 12:30 p.m. at the Love’s gas station in Buckeye.
