PHOENIX — Christmas is over and all of a sudden, your tree doesn’t have a place in your home.
Thankfully, it’s easy to get rid of it, especially if you live in Phoenix.
The city of Phoenix allows you to drop your Christmas tree off at various parks around the city beginning Wednesday.
You can also drop it off at the city’s two transfer stations — on Dixileta Drive and Interstate 17 or Lower Buckeye Road and 27th Avenue.
“It’s just a great service we offer our residents knowing that through the season and through the holidays, a lot of our residents love having the real Christmas trees in their home,” Stacy Hettmansperger, city of Phoenix’s Public Works operations manager told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Hettsmansperger asks that if you drop off your tree at one of the transfer stations, to bring a city services bill to confirm Phoenix residency.
There are stipulations for dropping off your tree, too.
“It’s important to make sure the trees come in with no stands, lights or tinsel,” Hettsmansperger said. “Just the tree and the stump.”
More information on Christmas tree disposal, including locations, can be found at city’s recycling website.
