PHOENIX — A man who allegedly shot at Buckeye police officers Tuesday has died, according to authorities.

Antonio A. Ramos, 34, was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, authorities said.

When officers were on their way to the home near the 24200 block of West Desert Bloom Street, they were notified that a shot had possibly been fired in the home.

Officers arrived and were able to get the girlfriend, another woman and two children out of the home safely.

Ramos, who was on the phone with officers, remained in the residence and threatened suicide before losing contact with the officers.

Authorities said it was then that Ramos came out of the house and opened fire on the officers.

Several officers fired back and the suspect was pronounced dead on the scene, according to authorities. No officers were injured in the shooting.

The three Buckeye police officers who returned fired were placed on administrative leave, a standard procedure for officer involved shooting.

An investigation into the shooting is underway.
