PHOENIX — The National Weather Service is forecasting a Christmas cool down in the Valley with the high expected to be 59 degrees.
Tuesday’s forecast was a 10 degree drop from expected highs on Sunday and Christmas Eve, which were both set at 68 degrees.
They were also projecting a 30 percent chance of rain on Christmas Day, which could make for a bumpy return flight to the North Poll if Santa is running late dropping off presents.
Big changes by Christmas day! Dry & warm weather w/ highs in low 70s will be replaced by much cooler and somewhat wetter conditions by Christmas day. Highs in Phoenix down near 63 Tuesday. Rain chances > 30 percent. #azwx pic.twitter.com/r0qg91Qn8j

Here’s the latest on the upcoming winter weather for Christmas day and Wednesday. Snow amounts remain uncertain, but winter driving conditions appear likely for the high country – please be prepared if you’re planning travel. #azwx pic.twitter.com/gPaS6KG9jE
