Netflix announces its most popular shows, movies and stars for 2018

PHOENIX — Did you spend too much time watching Netflix this year?
So did a lot of people.
Based on average watch time per viewing session, the streaming service determined that “On My Block” was its most binge-watched show of the year.
The others were:
- “Making a Murderer,” part two
- “13 Reasons Why,” season two
- “Last Chance U: INDY”
- “Bodyguard”
- “Fastest Car”
- “The Haunting of Hill House”
- “Anne with an E,” season two
- “Insatiable”
- “Orange Is the New Black,” season six
Netflix found that its most rewatched movies were “The Kissing Booth,” “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “Roxanne Roxanne.”
The streaming service also named its most-loved stars, based on which actors had the highest percentage of growth in Instagram following since January:
- The Fab Five (“Queer Eye”)
- Lana Condor (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”)
- Joel Courtney (“The Kissing Booth”)
- Miguel Herrán (“Elite” / “La Casa de Papel”)
- Jaime Lorente Lopez (“Elite” / “La Casa de Papel”)
- Maria Pedraza (“Elite” / “La Casa de Papel”)
- Noah Centineo (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” “Sierra Burgess is a Loser”)
- Joey King (“The Kissing Booth”)
- Hannah Gadsby (“Nanette”)
- Kiernan Shipka (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”)
Last week, Netflix shared a list of movies that will be added to its catalog in January.
The list includes three “Indiana Jones” movies, two Marvel superhero movies and two “Godzilla” movies.
