More than 29,000 pounds of Jimmy Dean frozen, ready-to-eat pork and poultry sausage links were recalled due to fears that it could contain pieces of metal.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Tuesday the product was 23.4-ounce pouches of Jimmy Dean Heat n’ Serve Original Sausage Links Made with Pork and Turkey.
Any packages with a use-by date of Jan. 31, establishment number EST. 19085 and a case code of A6382168 with a time stamp range of 11:58 through 01:49 were subject to recall.
The department said there have been no reports of injuries involving the recalled meats, but five consumer complaints of metal pieces in the sausage links sparked the recall.
The problem was discovered Monday.
Anyone who believes they have purchased a recalled product is encouraged to throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
It was not immediately known where the products were sold. The department said it would publish a retail distribution list when it is available.
