PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation plans to implement two freeway restrictions to accommodate maintenance work in the East Valley on Tuesday.
In Mesa, the ramp from the eastbound U.S. 60 Superstition Freeway to the northbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for pavement work.
U.S. 60 drivers should plan on taking an alternate route. One option would be to take the southbound Loop 202 ramp and then exit at Guadalupe Road and make left turns to access northbound 202.
South of Chandler, traffic traveling away from the Valley on eastbound Interstate 10 will be restricted to one lane at the Gila River Bridge from 9-10:30 a.m. so the bridge can be inspected.
MAINTENANCE ALERT: Expect restrictions along Interstate 10 eastbound south of Chandler and US 60 eastbound in Mesa starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11.
This is for inspection of the Gila River Bridge.

There will also be a 13-foot width restriction in place on the bridge.
Motorists should allow extra travel time for the restrictions and always use caution at work zones.
