PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has planned a grand opening ceremony Saturday morning for a substation in Anthem, north of Phoenix.
Sheriff Paul Penzone, Anthem Community Executive Officer Neal Shearer and other community leaders will take part in the event at 10:30 a.m. at the Anthem Civic Building (3701 W. Anthem Way).
“This substation will facilitate even more chances for us to interact with those that we are committed to serving,” Penzone said in a press release.
“I want to thank our supervisors and deputies for their dedication to this mission and Anthem’s leaders for their assistance in making this day happen.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is part of the community’s “Java & Jammin’” event that runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and will also feature live music, refreshments and other activities.
“The public safety services provided by MCSO are vitally important to Anthem and to all unincorporated areas in the North Valley,” Shearer said in the release.
The MCSO has served in Anthem since the community was established in 1999 and will continue to be available around the clock.
The substation lobby will be open to the public weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing an opportunity for Anthem residents to interact with sheriff’s office staff.
