PHOENIX — Border agents in Arizona arrested an MS-13 gang member who illegally entered the U.S. while he was traveling with a group to Los Angeles last week.

Manuel Lopez-Gomez, 28, was traveling in a car with five occupants on Highway 93 near Wikieup when agents performed an immigration stop.

Agents arrested him and two other passengers for entering the country illegally, while one passenger and the driver, a U.S. citizen, were arrested for harboring them.

Andres Abel Garcia, 49, one of the three that entered the U.S. illegally, was found to have multiple DUI convictions.

The group said they were traveling to LA with plans to live and work there.

On the same day, border agents arrested two people near Wellton who entered the U.S. illegally and had been previously deported. They also said they were traveling to LA.
