PHOENIX — A spokeswoman for the Phoenix Police Department said Saturday that Cristhian E. Alvarez, 26, was arrested this weekend for alleged burglary and arson.
Police said two suspects stole from a residence Monday afternoon, taking the family dog and home surveillance system, while a young girl was at home.
The suspects returned to the home near West Thomas Road and North 51st Avenue with a gas can and set the garage on fire, police said.
The suspects drove a dark green and gold Chevy Tahoe that had its license plate removed.
According to police, officers detained Alvarez during a routine patrol, and he admitted to being involved in the crime.
Police were able to find the puppy and return it to the family.
