Electric Light Parade celebrates the holidays on Saturday

PHOENIX — The 32nd annual APS Electric Light Parade begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday in downtown Phoenix.

The parade will begin at Central and Montebello avenues and end on Indian School Road and 7th Street.

Phoenix Parks and Recreation suggest taking the Valley Metro Light Rail to the Central Avenue stop just south of Camelback Road.

The event is free but seating will be only be available on a first-come, first served basis.

Four roads will be closed beginning at 5 p.m. including Central Avenue from Bethany Home road to Indian School road, Camelback Road from 7th Avenue to 16th Street, 7th Street from Bethany Home Road to Osborn Road and Indian School Road from Central Avenue to 12th Street.

All roads are expected to reopen at 11 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to be in the 50s with a 10 percent chance of rain. The APS Electric Light Parade is a rain or shine event.
