PHOENIX — Real estate website Trulia ranked Phoenix among the top 10 housing markets to watch in 2019.
The website said that growth among “coastal tech hubs” is giving way to new cities that are affordable, have young populations and are located more inland.
Out of 100 U.S. housing markets, Phoenix ranked No. 7, based on job growth, vacancy, income needed to afford a home, home searches on Trulia and share of population under 35.
Colorado Springs, Colorado, was named the top housing market to watch, with Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jacksonville, Florida, following behind.

Two cities in California (Fresno and Bakersfield) and two in Texas (El Paso and Austin) made the list.
Trulia also identified the “hottest” neighborhood in each housing market.
For the Phoenix area, it was the Agritopia neighborhood in Gilbert, located within the boundaries of East Ray Road, South Higley Road and the Loop 202.
A July 2018 Zillow report found that home values in Phoenix rose 7.7 percent in the last year, with a median home value of $256,000.
