Fire roars through mansion south of Phoenix, occupants escape

PHOENIX — Fire destroyed a mansion in a Phoenix suburb early Thursday morning but the three people inside escaped without serious injury.
ABC15 reported that the blaze near Alma School and Chandler Heights roads started shortly before 3 a.m. on the second floor.
Several fire departments pitched in to fight the fire in the gated community in Sun Lakes. Flames shot high into the dark sky and smoke billowed from the 12,000-square-foot property.
Cause of the fire was under investigation.
No other details were immediately available.
