PHOENIX — Three people were rushed to the hospital in critical condition Sunday morning following a crash at 107th Avenue and McDowell Road in Avondale.

Police were investigating the incident for possible driver impairment.

According to Avondale police, the crash involved two vehicles: a silver Jeep Wrangler and a silver Acura, which collided in the intersection.

Three passengers were found unconscious.

Two of them were found outside of their car, although it was unclear if they were ejected from the vehicle or not.

The driver of the Jeep was cooperating with authorities.

Police were waiting for daylight to help detectives with the investigation and the area is expected to be closed for a few hours Sunday morning.
