Bank of America in Phoenix evacuated after suspicious substance found

PHOENIX — Phoenix Fire evacuated a Bank of America corporate office Friday afternoon after a suspicious substance was found in the mailroom.
Hazardous materials teams and Phoenix Police examined a black powder leaking from an envelope, according to the fire department.
The crews were unable to determine what the substance was, only that it was not life-threatening.
The investigation at the bank’s office near Buckeye Road and 16th Street concluded around 2 p.m.
